PoPuLar~~

Every girl dreams to be a popular girl. Girls always hope that they will have a lot of friends and be loved by everyone. How to be a popular girl? As a girl, I have some subjective ideas about it. I would like to share them with you. First of all, you should be confident. Confidence is the key that makes girls more attractive. You’re your confident smile to others every moments is every important. People will be attracted by your charming smile and simultaneously pay attention to you more. Besides, talking to others courteously and gently is also important. Your confident, soft sounds present to others that you are a girl who is amiable and easy to makes friend. Second is being optimistic. Do not fear difficulties. When you are in trouble, take it easy, try to face it with smile and solve it by yourself. Do not complain every time. Be happy everyday and love your life. A spunky girl is a perfect girl. The last one is also the most important one. It is being a kind and friendly. Be a person who is always patient with others and be willing to help others. Everyone likes make friend with such a person. In conclusion, try to let yourself confident, optimistic and friendly. In everyone’ heart, you will be the most popular girl.

Junk Food!!!

According to an article in the New York Times, these organic snacks and prepared foods are growing increasingly popular. Unfortunately, these new products seem to be more concerned with clever packaging, rather than real health or nutritional value. That's where the greenwashing comes in. Masking a junk food with labels that say "all-natural" or "organic ingredients" doesn't necessarily make them healthy. But the promise of health and natural ingredients might be a big part of their appeal. Certainly, it's how they are marketed to us.
How does green washing look to the unsuspecting public? Here are some common traits:
· Potato chips have the same fat and calorie counts as regular chips, but they come in earthy-looking brown bags, rather than shiny foil bags.
· Happy-looking cartoon cows beam out from packages of string cheese, ice cream, and other dairy products.
· Wheat sheafs and grains are used to sell candy granola bars.

Speak English with Native Speakers~~

During the long weekend, I stayed at home and did my homework with my house owner. My house owner is a native speaker. She helped me on my writing homework- cause/effect essay outlines. We talked about how to write a good cause/effect essay in two different forms-chains and block. At the beginning, we go thought chapter 6 on writing book, which Jeannie recommended us to review. It cost us about twenty minutes. I often met some problems because I did not know how to write cause/effect essay in correct forms. After we finished this chapter, I have understood how to use these two forms and I started to do outline. She helped me and guided me during I did outlines. It was not easy to express what I was thinking about. However, I needed to organize my language before I speak to her. When we finished the two outlines, it was nearly 6:00 p.m. We have studied together nearly fifty minutes. I felt it became more comfortable to speak English with my house owner at the end because she was so kind and patient. I think I should encourage myself to speak English with native speaker as much as possible. It is useful for my speaking. Moreover, speaking journal is a very good way for us to practice our speaking. I like to do it and I believe that I can improve my English by it. I hope that one day I will speak English as well as a native speaker.

However, I am lucky I live in a house. I can not believe how hot the apartment is. My friend tell me that everyday she visits her friends who live in the basements of houses and eat her supper there. Because she can not bear the heat in her apartment~~

I do not know how long the hot weather will last. I hope it will past ASAP!!!

Attending Lecture~~I like the professor~~

Today I attending in a lecture, the professor, Peter Slezak, dealt with the topic World Regional Geography. The professor is very humorous. His words always let his student laugh. His humor let his students to be actively in this class. He lectured to the students clearly and effectively. There were about 150 students in this class, but I found that most of the students in this class paid attention to the professor and they took notes so seriously. I sat closed to professor. I found he liked look at your eyes and tried to attract everyone in his class by eye contact. He likes to ask questions about the knowledge which is beyond books. I know it is hard for his students to answer his question, but he was patient and guided them to think. At last, the students always can get a closed answer. I could saw that his students respect him very much. They followed their professor seriously and answered his question actively. I like this professor, I hope I could meet a professor as peter when I study university courses. I am look forward that.

Heartrending Mark~~

I got a real real terrible mark for my presentation~~I am so sad about it. I think the major reasons are 1. I did not prepare my notes earnestly. 2. I did not review my notes before my presentation. 3. I did not go though it completely with my partner even once. 4. I did not do ppt earnestly 5.6.7.8.9.10.~~~~~~

T0T

The teacher is right. We need do the presentation more professionally. We must use acdemic English instead " you guys" " anyway" ... ...We must pay attention to our behavior during our presentation. By these ways, we can make our presentation more professional and we can get higher marks. Guys, we are together, you know learning language is not terrible, it need enough time and energe. We do not need to complain about something. We all know that we work so hard but the results are not fair for us . However, do not give up please, we can do it. I trust all of you guys are perfect and you can pass all levels.

Stampede

What with the wind and what with the rain, my good mood is ruined. I really hate this kind of weather, so repressive and boring. But I am so lucky because I chose a good day go to the stampede park and enjoy my whole afternoon there. That was a good day, the weather as nice as my mood. My friends and I wear the different style cowboy hats and go to stampede together by city-train. I was excited because this is my first time join the stampede. I was attracted by the colored shops. There are candy shops, cake shops, cafeteria, and even photo studio. The most attractive things are the games and rides. Looked at people go though with an armful of toys which are their trophies, I was hardly wait to play these games and try these rides. When the darkness came on, I was so tired but still excited. I was so happy and left there reluctantly with my trophy—little blue whale. Stampede, see you next year!

The lady, or the tiger?

once read “The Lady, or the Tiger?” for a class, and we were asked to ponder the possibilities. A king’s daughter is caught with her common-class lover, and as punishment he is thrown into an arena with two doors. Behind one door is a lady, and behind the other is a tiger; whichever door he opens is his fate. Meanwhile, the king’s daughter takes steps to find out which door will hide the lady and which will hide the tiger, and on her lover’s fateful day in the arena, she signals to him to choose the door on the right.
Given the background, the character motivations, and the circumstances, how do you think the story ends?
Well, the teacher had each of us write our own ending to the tale, and as indecisive as I was, I couldn’t bear to choose either one. The lady, or the tiger? About half the class picked the first while the other half picked the second, and they all wrote eloquently on the whys and wherefores of the choice they made.
Myself, I was racked with indecision. I didn’t like either ending, and I simply couldn’t justify choosing one over the other. Both endings were too sad, and I was of the mind that a tale that ended sadly was an unsatisfying one. Had I been the king’s daughter, I would have called in sick and avoided the event at the arena altogether.
But that wasn’t part of the assignment. The assignment was to write about what awaited the lover when he opened the door on the right. So I wrote.
In my ending, the door holds neither the lady nor the tiger. In fact, there is nothing and no one at all behind the door. Upon seeing this, the crowd looks accusingly at the king’s daughter, knowing that only she could be behind such sabotage, and with the audience distracted, the lover escapes through the open door and disappears. When his absence is discovered, the people are outraged. They send some men into the arena to go after the lover, all to no avail. Meanwhile, in the confusion of the chase, the king’s daughter also makes her exit. In fact, she and her lover later escape the city and live happily ever after.
The ending was completely atypical in the class, and my teacher loved it. He might have thought that I was thinking outside the box or being completely creative and original, but the truth is that I’m incapable of making a decision, and I will do almost anything to avoid having to make such a tough choice. To this day, I still cannot decide between the lady or the tiger. Every now and then I come back to this story and re-evaluate my response; I try to choose one or the other, and I can’t. I simply can’t.
As the narrator would say, “The question of her decision is one not to be lightly considered, and it is not for me to presume to set myself up as the one person able to answer it. And so I leave it with all of you: Which came out of the opened door,–the lady, or the tiger?”

I love Jack!!!!!

How cool he is! Jack Sparrow, a guy who tells pack of lies, he is full of deceits and he is lech, but he is so smart, so nimble and face danger fearlessly. As the Pirate Lord of the Caribbean Sea, he enjoys the freedom of his occupation, drinking rum and seducing women while looking for supernatural treasures. He engages in much dealing and treachery, preferring to use wits over weapons to survive. Sparrow is introduced as seeking to regain his ship the Black Pearl from his treacherous first mate Hector Barbossa, and spends much of the sequels trying to escape his blood debt to Davy Jones and battling the East India Trading Company. Despite his rude or cowardly behavior, he is nonetheless an honorable and likeable character. I have fell in love with the most catching ptrate in the world!( do not tell my BF, thank u)
Recommend the movie-Pirate of the Caribbean to you guys!!!
